šotimaa nr 2
Selle maja taga, kus me asetseme, elab 5 väikest jänest, 2 oravat ja 1 rebane, rebane jäneseid ei söö, kuna linnas on tal kergemaid söömisvõimalusi:P. Kajakad trambivad jalgadega maad, et vihmaussid mullast välja tuleks...huvitav vaatepilt. Suhteliselt loomaaed. Täna päeval leidsin täiesti kogemata David Hume'i haua.
"everybody thinks scotland is like Braveheart, but atually it's more like Trainspotting. Igatahes veits vindine ja igasugu huvitavaid kohti näinud, ja suhelnud inimestega kes on Leithi lähedal üles kasvanud. Loodan mingi hetk pildid kah üles laadida ja siis näeb cheerio!

Pääsuke
Ma nägin täna, akna peal suitsu tehes, kuidas pääsuke tegi barrel roll'i, pani ühe tiiva keha lähedale ülespoole ja teise keha lähedale allapoole. A bit weird/cool at the same time.

LoL

The Secret Life of Chaos
"The Secret Life of Chaos"
TÜ Keemiaringis (Jakobi 2-226)
6. mai, neljapäev
Kell 18.15
Filmi juhatab sisse TÜ korrastamata süsteemide füüsika professor Jaak Kikas
Tasuta!
Film näitab, kuidas kaosest võivad formuleerida mitmesugused struktuurid, mustrid, kuidas näiline korrapäratus toob endaga kaasa korda, lumehelbed on siinkohal väga heaks näiteks. Kui palju on kaoses kaost (või korda)?
Head filmielamust!
Film on inglise keeles,
pikkuseks 60min
Kirja võib edastada ka teistesse listidesse :)
Head asja toetavad:

birthday - a time for reflection and a time for thinking....ptui...drinking
a year has passed since my last birthday. I've become a bigger man since then. That doesn't mean something big has happened. It just means that I feel Big. I've grown up, that's what they say (that's what they've said since early childhood) but I don't feel different. I know I've changed, everything changes, everything is in perpetual motion. I think to know a shitload of things.
The question is "What makes me and why?"

The war was over, the Brain-men had won, Earth had fallen silent. Some on the ISS cried for themselves and some for those lost, there was nowhere to go nor no-one to go to, there was only time left until food ran out and after that – death, death which would come as last gift from what we call life, ending the despair and maybe even taking us to something bigger, something better.
They appeared out of nowhere and started feeding almost immediately, in that sense we weren't very different, we just didn't expect that we ourselves would be resources to a different civilization. It's kind of weird to call them a civilization, could creatures who are driven by basic instincts even form a civilization? Anyway, at once we started calling them Brain-men, not because what they did, but what their organic devices looked like. The devices that literally helped suck men dry, some even said that they took our souls, and regarded them the Devil that had come to rule Earth, but there was no Rapture, no saviour to help the faithful ascend. The creatures themselves could only be described by the horrors we've all seen in our early childhood dreams, something without real physical form but at the same time the things that made 3-year-olds wet their beds at night. The first time I saw footage of the beasts, I thought „Christ, they've always been there, since our very birth but only the undeveloped ego of a child could perceive them.“ Maybe they were always there, hating us for intruding their territory, desperately devising a way to exist here, to annihilate us. But maybe we were just cattle to them, bred and even nurtured so we could someday become a foodsource, a snack. „Hell, I don't know.“ Atleast I know for a fact that we did everything we could to fight them off, it really doesn't matter that we didn't succeed. It's like the heroic human nature that Hollywood zombie flicks portray - in the face of total destruction people band together to fight a desperate fight, the only real difference is that in the end we didn't win, but we still showed ourselves that we are heroic in nature.
After the beasts initial appearance in Iraq, UN soldiers quickly realized that bullets and explosives had no effect on them as they spread like a plague through the desert. The little data that was transmitted to western scientist left them baffled on the origin and composition of the beings. Bolder scientists theorized, because the creatures were incorporeal in nature and seemed to have appereared out of nowhere, that they were something from another dimension, probably even shadow-puppets that were controlled from somewhere else. They even thought that if we could disintegrate the shadows and contained, by then what we had called Ground Zero (because it seemed to be the only place they sprag forth), the area, we would be safe from harm. Maybe it would have worked, if we had had a couple of decades to study the beasts, but in a month, half of the world was overrun. The sight from space was as if a dark planket had covered one side of the Earth. It was then that the newly formed Earth Alliance nuked Ground Zero, unfortunately with no effect. It took them another month to completly cover the Earth. At that point it looked kind of beautiful, a glittering black sphere in space, twirling around a sun. It stayed like that for two weeks, two weeks that seemed like years, as we waited for our inevitable demise. After that, the planket receded without warning, like a bursting soap bubble in slow motion, leaving in its wake a planet defaced. A red rock in space, devoid of life with us floating around it in an air-filled casket. A sudden horrifying realization dawned on me, about this universe, about civilizations lost or soon to be lost. I thought that if i shared this newly gained knowledge it would somehow become bearable, I turned and looked at my two comrades and saw that they had transformed from a biologist to Theseus and from a physicist to Minotaur, I thought „I'm losing my mind.“, Theseus shook his head, „Then i must be dreaming.“ Minotaur nodded. I woke with a sudden kick that threw my cat off the bed, my head filled with questions about the horrors I had seen. But somehow i dozed off again, in a weird knowledge that I was floating in the safty of space.

A little bit of acid wouldn't hurt you.
Ma siin surfin mööda Prelingeri arhiive otsides bioloogia teemalisi klippe, ja järsku avastasin filmi:
Red vs. Blue - Episode 34 - Aftermath, Before Biology
mille juurde käis kirjeldus:
Doc tries to tell blue base about a big purple thing he found. Tucker doesn't know how to describe what's wrong with Sheila. Grif awakes and finds out his repaired body is not entirely his own

the sign is not the thing (oo)-boobs?
'That's another thing we've learned from your Nation,' said Mein Herr, 'map-making. But we've carried it much further than you. What do you consider the largest map that would be really useful?'
'About six inches to the mile.'
'Only six inches!' exclaimed Mein Herr. 'We very soon got to six yards to the mile. Then we tried a hundred yards to the mile. And then came the grandest idea of all! We actually made a map of the country, on the scale of a mile to the mile'
'Have you used it much?' I enquired.
'It has never been spread out, yet,' said Mein Herr: 'the farmers objected: they said it would cover the whole country, and shut out the sunlight! So we now use the country itself, as its own map, and I assure you it does nearly as well.'
(Lewis Carroll, Sylvie and Bruno Concluded, Chapter 11)
